The hotel was excellent! We had great rooms, great view. We were next to the fire station but did not hear anything. We went to a yankees game and the location was PERFECT. Took the train to 161st - straight shot. Staff was friendly and helpful and offered GREAT suggestions for food (The oxford is an excellent place for a quick good meal). Cheaper than the hotel too. Rooms were large for NY, very clean, and hotel was beautiful. You cannot find a nicer hotel in this location at this rate. Ended up raining on our last day, and the valet was kind enough to offer us hotel umbrellas for the day. Will stay there again for our next trip to NYC.

Hotel stay was going fine until on the third day the shock came when the entire 4th Floor went under renovation, the floor I was staying on. Dust, and grime from walls and ceiling and rug overhauling comsumed me. It was so bad. I asked front desk for a adjustment on my bill. After lengthy argument, which excalated to manager, hotel agreed to a monetary adjustment on my credit card. If we had not been able to reach an agreement, I would never stay at Doubletree again. So I am thankful that manager decided to compensate me for the inconvenience.

The 2 bed room was roomy by NYC standards, and the beds were comfortable. Renovations were happening in the hallways of our floor, but they were quiet. The bathroom was disappointing--it needed maintenance like new caulk, some new grout, and/or deep cleaning to remove what looked like mold or mildew. We loved the location--away from the Times Square crowds, but close enough to walk to the theatre districts, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center.

This hotel was located on Lexington so not a premier address but convenient. The staff was very nice but the room was horrible. It is an old hotel and you can tell. I did not want by bare feet on the carpet. There was an old chest in front of the antiquated airconditioner and so you had very poor air circulation. Set at 54 degrees the room was very hot. The staff tried to remedy the situation by removing the front of the air conditioner but a different room would have felt much better!

I had a wonderful stay at the doubletree metropolitan hotel! The staff was wonderful, the rooms were spotless clean, and the location of the hotel was ideal. I am really picky with hotels especially in NY because the rooms are usually really small etc. But I did NOT have this problem at the doubletree...it was a great stay at a great location, the lobby is beautiful...free wifi...i LOVED IT. The best part about the hotel is the staff (I am referring to Venus and Swapna...wonderful experience!!
