We loved the location and the hotel. We did have an unpleasant experience and I feel that the hotel should of been more attentive. On the second night at the hotel the blow dryer in the bathroom disintegrated, throwing out electrical sparks, several of which hit me causing small burns on my face and chest. I called the front desk and they sent a new one, but when I asked for help to get some kind of cream to deal with the burns, they told me to go to the spa and the lady said she had nothing for that kind of burn and that I should ask for aloh, and later I spoke to someone at the front desk who told me to go to a drug store. This isn't what I expected at a 5 star hotel. On the night before I left, I got a call from security asking for the details. They did send a basket of fruit with no note, so I can only assume that it was for the incident, but I was left feeling a bit abandoned by the hotel.

i have had the pleasure of staying at the mandarin 9 days! with a central park view , worth every penny since nothing beats a sunrise from the upper east side over central park""wow"" . tThe concierge is the best he knew my name and always asked which diffcult restaurant or broadwy show i wanted that night and he delivered, the spa suite $1,000.00 extra for 4 hours was a nice experience too. This hotel is ina great location and the staff was friendly and knowledgeabe, i have stayed at other 5 stars in town that are more expensive and deliver less and older 5 stars where the rooms were musty , you won't have this problem worth every dollar.

This is the perfect NYC hotel. Location, service, rooms, views, shopping.... everything is perfect. We have stayed at other hotels in the city, some much less expenseive, some much more expensive. We will never stay anywhere other than the Mandarin again. The service is what sets this property apart from other similar hotels. Spend the extra money and stay at this hotel... It is worth it.

We are frequent travelers for both business and leisure, and decided to try the Mandarin for my wife's birthday./July 4th in NYC. Although a little pricier than our usual fare, we decided to splurge on a Park-view room and it was well worth it. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. At this level you expect exceptional service and attention to all the fine details, and we were not in the least disappointed. The complete experience was fabulous, and we will return when ready to indulge again.
