Stayed 2 days. Bathroom small but functional. Room was hugh with full kitchen and one bedroom. Child slept on sofa bed without any problems. Will stay there again when we come back to the City. Great location. Hotel staff will bend over backwards to help.

Location of this hotel is exceptional to the subway and many, many areas within walking distance. The room was very large with a kitchenette, but the bathroom was very tiny, and the shower was just big enough for one person to stand in 2x2. The window air conditioner ran all the time at top speed and never really cooled the room down; it was always a bit muggy and warm. The best feature, was the very helpful concierge desk; they had lots of suggestions and called to make reservations and gave us great directions.

Close to Penn Station making it easy to get anywhere in the city quickly. Attactive foyer/entrance. Friendly staff. A good buy given the fact you get a large suite complete with kitchen. Only drawback is a small bathroom.

We chose the Affinia after reading some reviews (there appeared to be more favorable ones than not) and crossing our fingers because this was our first trip to NYC and we didn't know anything about the city, let alone the hotels. Much to our delight, the Affinia on 7th Avenue was everything we had hoped for...and more! The hotel offers a nice balance of charm and sophistication. The front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating; the concierge was helpful; and the rooms feature sweet little kitchens, a programmable safe, high-end toiletries--oh, and Affinia's 'pillow menu' is terrific! Step outside and you're right around the corner from the Empire State Building, Macy's flagship store, across the street from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, and just a quick walk from Times Square and all the excitement it has to offer. We were traveling with friends and booked two rooms; this gave us two takes on the hotel. Our room was behind the elevator, which generated some noise throughout the night, but nothing I couldn't sleep through thanks to the wonderfully lofty down pillows. The view from our room was an iconic NYC roofscape, a la "Rear Window"; our friends' room, on the other hand, had an AMAZING view of Times Square. Next time we stay at The Affinia--and we will!--we'll probably request the room our friends had just to enjoy seeing a different 'slice' of The Big Apple. We recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a warm, 'boutique' hotel experience. If you require such amenities as a pool, gym, or shoe shine, this may not be for you; however, if you want a comfortable, secure place to stay while enjoying all the city has to offer, then check out The Affinia.
