This was the best place you could stay in New York. You can walk to any of the attractions, and still get a good nights sleep. This hotel was less noisy than my house and I was 5 mins away from 5th Avenue and 10 mins from Times Square walking. I walked in no time to SOHO and Union Square. This area is safe and has no locals to bother you. The area is located in what seemed to be a very wealthy area of New York. The roof top patio offered great views of the Empire State Bldg and Chrysler Bldg. I really do not know how this was so inexpensive, but I do know it is far more expensive outside Travelocity. Thanks Travelocity for making my 1st Anniverary great!

My husband and I stayed here June 12th - 15th. We were not at the hotel much except to sleep and shower but it was a wonderful hotel. The beds were more comfortable than any bed Ive ever slept on while traveling and considering it was New York there was little to no noise coming into the room. There were room darkening shades and the first morning we #40accidentlly#41 selt until 11am! It was walking distance to everything ~ Grand Central Station Times Square United Nations and had close views of both the Chrysler and EMpire STate Buildings. We were three blocks away from the subway 6 line for a quick inexpensive trip to the Brooklyn Bridge Chinatown or Greenwich Village. Everything was convenient clean comfortable and quiet!

I have never stayed in an Affinia hotel before but was more than pleasantly surprised with the Affinia Shelburne. The suite was spacious and nicely decorated. I certainly would have expected to have paid much more for such a room in a very convenient location in Manhattan. I will definitely stay here again and will look for Affinia Hotels when staying in other cities.

We were more than satisfied with our stay at Affinia. Great location - easy walking distance to many sights and subway access. Hotel atmospere was modern and updated, rooms were nice, beds comfortable. Enjoyed brunch at their restaurant and late night drink on rooftop bar. Street fair vendors set up on Lexington right outside the hotel on Saturday of our stay which was an added treat. Concierge was helpful with questions and doormen were also helpful with luggage and cabs. All hotel staff courteous and pleasant. Would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.

First impressions tell the whole story. The hotel is located in a wonderful residential area, the decor is stylish, and the staff is professional and accommodating. Our suite was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and house-keeping was quick to respond to all of our requests. The view at night from the roof-top bar is spectacular. Getting around the city is no problem. The hotel is located on a bus line with a stop directly across the street. The subway is within easy walking distance and Dennis, the doorman snaps his fingers and cabs or town cars magically appear. It was our good fortune to be befriended by A, who works at the front desk. He was amazingly helpful with directions and when asked offered great suggestions for shopping and dining. When we checked-in to the hotel, the porter brought our luggage to the room and we asked him for a dining recommendation. He suggested Rossini's Restaurant and I am passing this suggestion on to whoever reads this review. Rossini's is a local Italian restaurant with the most delicious chicken parmesan I have ever tasted. The waiters are entertaining and the atmosphere is relaxed. Our only regret was that our suite did not have an outside view. But since we were out early in the morning until late at night, it was not an issue. Will we stay again? Yes, yes, yes! WE are already planning our next girl's weekend.
